The College seeks a part-time educator for a two-year IBDP History teacher from 15 August 2025 to 31 May 2027.

Located on an open campus in the picturesque village of Duino in the north-east of Italy, 25 kilometres away from the city of Trieste, the College is currently home to approximately 185 students, aged 16 to 19.

Currently, 90% of the student body benefit from a full or partial scholarship in order to pursue their education at UWC Adriatic.
The residential education programme offered by the College places equal emphasis on academic and co-curricular learning experiences.
Our students undertake the International Baccalaureate Diploma, a rigorous pre-university qualification, through the medium of English.
All students are also required to engage fully in service-based learning, ecological and outdoor education, physical and cultural activities, as well as social and emotional learning.
In addition, the UWC Adriatic educational experience draws inspiration from the surrounding rich Italian culture including art, music, architecture, history and regional languages that stimulate our students' creativity and reflections.
The successful candidates will have a personal education philosophy in line with the mission and values of the UWC movement and will be expected to demonstrate evidence of the qualifications, experience, skills and attributes that are included in the UWC Adriatic educator profile below.
The College is seeking as a part-time replacement for absent staff an inspirational educator to join our dynamic and innovative team for a two-year cover position for:
– IBDP History from 15 August 2025 to 31 May 2027 – Part-Time.
The contractual classification and remuneration will be that relating to the III Fascia V Level of the Federculture Collective Contract of reference applied by the College.
The percentage of vertical and multi-period part-time, which could indicatively range from 45% to 65% will then be established at the time of recruitment, also in view of the College's needs and working hours.
Successful applicants are likely tobe suitably qualified professionals with a subject-specific undergraduate degree and preferably a teaching qualificationbe passionate, engaged, and mission-driven individuals who have a values-based approach to preparing young people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to become tomorrow's ethical change-makerswilling to work with students to build a strong commitment towards affecting peace in the world and to develop the skills necessary to make this possiblebe committed to the experiential education model which lies at the heart of the UWC educational programme, where learning is inquiry and concept based, and lessons are student-centredpossess the ability to adapt personal teaching style to students from a diverse range of educational systems and cultureshave the ability to support ELL across all subject areas – (students range from B1 – C2 CEFR level English at Diploma level), and to differentiate learning experiences – students range from having studied IB before to having had disrupted education, so ability to differentiate and deal with very mixed ability classes is vitalintegrate Theory of Knowledge into their professional practice (training and support will also be provided by the College)supervise Extended Essays in at least two subject areasactively promote, support and participate in the co-curricular learning programme ensuring students engage with the UWC Mission inside and outside of the classroom.
