All about the role We are looking for a Development Engineer to play a key role in creating innovative mechanical systems for refrigerators and freezers designed by Electrolux. This engineer will collaborate across regions to bring new products from concept to launch, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards while remaining cost-effective and hitting target deadlines.
What you'll do DESIGN:
Sketch alternative proposals to match product requirements; support prototyping and testing to validate the optimal solution
Execute the CAD using Catia V5, from 3D models to the detailed drawings release for manufacturing of tools and parts
Generate and maintain complete documentation of components and assemblies, including all technical specification
PROJECTS:
Plan and ensure execution of projects deliverables within agreed-upon timing and budget
Drive the components and systems all the way from concept to release for production on a new product development or a Product care project
Meet the targets related to Cost, timing, quality, Capex, automation, recyclability, modularization and sustainability
Adhere to the Electrolux Project Management (EPM) process to support all R&D tasks. Utilize EPM Gate software to track and report project progress.
Ensure mandatory deliverables are met prior to requesting gate completion
TEAM WORK:
Interact proactively with R&D teams, Company functions, consultants and suppliers
Participate of regular project team meetings, providing the inputs needed to the Project R&D leader or Product Care leader
Support PPAP preparation, ensuring that all needed samples are provided timely to the testers as per the plans
Attend production of finished goods, subassemblies and components to verify compliance with technical specifications
Drive and implement mitigation plan for at-risk items
Promote culture of "Teamship" and professional accountability among core and extended team members
Who you are High school diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience developed within product development processes, with a preference for high-volume consumer product innovation.
Possess strong knowledge of mechanical component and system development, with expertise in 2D and 3D CAD (ideally CATIA V5).
Proficient in development tools like stage-gate processes, design reviews, DFMEA, and DFA.
Understand key manufacturing processes (metal forming, injection molding, etc.), raw materials, and assembly techniques (gluing, automation).
Comfortable using common applications like MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
Thrive in a multicultural environment and enjoy international collaboration (travel to our facilities worldwide is expected).
Fluent in English, with good written and verbal communication skills.

Where you'll be
This is a full-time position, based in Electrolux Food Preservation site in Susegana (Italy) about 1 hour distance from Venice, where we are undergoing multimillion industry 4.0 investment. You will be part of a dynamic international team where English is the natural language.
