**Job Description Summary**: At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.
We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.
As Material Management Specialist you will be responsible to plan and schedule material production needs monitoring the alignment of the needed dates and PO/delivery schedules.
You will have the responsibility to issue the Purchasing Requests upon the MRP in timely manner or/and evaluate and monitor the supplier's delivery forecasts.
In this role, you will ensure parts and materials availability at the right time and in the correct quantities, to allow customer orders to be fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner whilst managing inventory levels and costs.
You will manage internal and external suppliers through regular rhythm meetings and constantly update the material coverage of each P/N and the X-Chart for assembly activities in order to evaluate potential delays and activate escalation process through sourcing.
You will update the SAP MRP parameters to align lead time and assembly schedules and provide delivery commit on customer demand to Fulfilment Team and customer weekly, driving and assigning the right priorities to the production team.
**Essential Responsibilities**
- Attend daily production control meetings (safety, quality, delivery and costs).
- Keep up with constant communications with shops on material requirements related to inputs and part conditions.
- Assure consistency between production plan and need date, being accountable for material coverage.
- Develop, plan, and manage programs to meet demand satisfaction
- Release Requests for Order, PPO schedule and child orders according to production needs
- Monitor material delivery and expedite deliveries whenever required
- Follow up with Materials Vendors (Internal or External) on issues related to delivery, quality and certifications.
- To promptly work with sourcing for solutions on alternative materials in time of crisis (eg.
Quality problems with existing materials, or existing Material Vendors fail to deliver on time, etc).
- Work with Logistic team to resolve any relevant purchased materials receipt
- Monitor delivery delinquencies for material purchases and to follow up with procurement and/or vendor.
- Ensure that monthly inventory balance & turns target is met.
- Optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Prepare material availability report for Leadership weekly meetings
- Periodic monitoring of standard inventory vs actual
**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited University
- Previous experience as shop and/or materials management
- Excellent knowledge of SAP and systems for materials management
- Knowledge of material Planning and Inventory Control
- Analytical, organizational and planning skills
- Problem Solving skills
- Fluent in Italian and English language
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

- Six Sigma training is preferred
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and effective problem-solving approach
