Arcadia is a non-profit, international non-governmental organisation with a global presence, comprising 238 members from all seven continents.
Founded and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, Arcadia is dedicated to two core missions: Our primary mission is to make university-level education accessible to everyone, irrespective of financial, social, geographical, or political barriers.
We strive for academic excellence and aim to diminish the limitations to education, ensuring that high-quality education is available to all.
Our secondary mission is to foster a global appreciation and support for art.
By addressing contemporary global issues through art in our exhibitions, and highlighting significant art events worldwide, we aim to cultivate a deep-seated art consciousness.
Who We Are Recruiting For the Position?
We, at Arcadia, are looking for people who are interested in the editorial department with supporting resumes for the position they are applying for.
We will be hiring ten (10) people for our editorial team, internationally.
As an editor at Arcadia, you will be responsible for providing editorial support to our researchers and associate researchers who are producing high-quality academic articles and research series with diverse fields ranging from Art History to Genetical Engineering.
Working under the supervision of the Editor In Chief and in collaboration with the Chief Academic Advisor, you will be expected to be autonomous in your work but also able to effectively collaborate with various department members during the publication process.
Key Responsibilities: Editors are assigned to a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 writers, which equals a maximum of 7 articles biweekly that need to be edited within a comfortable timeline, proofread, and published.
Editors must be available for their writers during the writing process to answer questions or doubts about the article's content.
Editors will need to learn Arcadia's Editorial Guidelines, as well as citation guidelines (APA), and be able to apply these guidelines to the articles.
Requirements: Minimum Master's Degree, PhD is not required but would be an asset for the candidate, either studying or completed.
Advanced level of English both oral and written.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various types of members and partners.
Must have academic editing and publishing experience at academia or as professional experience.
Must be able to use applications such as Google Chat, Google Meet and Google Drive actively and effectively.
Editorial experience in academic articles is a must and can be tested.
What we offer: An online certificate with an international serial number after completing one year at Arcadia.
Access to Arcadia's Executive Education Certificate Program, which includes six courses totaling 64 hours, specifically tailored for your role, with international certification.
Flexible working hours based on project deadlines.
You must be willing to work 8-10 hours per week, with the flexibility to choose your working times to meet bi-weekly deadlines.
