Junior Financial Manager (Milan, Italy)Alantra is an independent global mid-market financial services firm providing investment banking, asset management, and private capital services to companies, families, and investors operating in the mid-market segment.
The Group has over 650 professionals across Europe, the US, Latin America, and Asia.Its Investment Banking division provides independent advice on MA, debt advisory, financial restructuring, structured funding asset backed securitizations, credit portfolio advisory and capital markets transactions, having advised on c. 750 deals for a total value of c. €187bn in the last four years.In Alternative Asset Management, Alantra offers its client unique access to a wide range of investment strategies in five highly specialized asset management classes (private equity, active funds, private debt, energy, and venture capital).
As of 31 December 2023, assets under management from consolidated businesses stood at €2.2bn, while assets under management from Strategic Partnerships, in which Alantra holds a significant stake, were at more than €13.4bn.Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Manager to join our finance team in the renewable energy sector, specifically focused on solar energy projects.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing accounting, financial control, and project finance functions.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-growing industry, contributing to the financial success of renewable energy initiatives while supporting sustainable development.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and Accounting:Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (Italian GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.Support in maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts.Manage accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, and financial transactions.Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the development of financial forecasts and annual budgets for solar projects.Track and report on budget variances, identifying cost-saving opportunities.Monitor financial performance metrics, including cash flow and profitability.Project Finance:Support the Senior Financial Manager in evaluating and structuring project financing for solar installations.Assist in the financial modeling of solar projects, including profitability analysis, debt structuring, and return on investment (ROI).Work with cross-functional teams to analyze potential risks and ensure the financial viability of new projects.Financial Control and Auditing:Implement financial controls and ensure compliance with internal control procedures.Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.Monitor adherence to corporate governance and financial regulatory requirements.Cash Flow and Capital Management:Assist in managing the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operations and project execution.Work closely with the Senior Financial Manager to optimize capital allocation for solar projects.Track funding sources, including loans, grants, and private investments.Tax and Regulatory Compliance:Assist in the preparation and submission of tax filings and regulatory reports in both local and international jurisdictions.Stay updated on relevant tax laws and renewable energy incentives affecting solar projects.Stakeholder Communication:Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, investors, and stakeholders.Provide financial insights to support decision-making on project investments and expansions.Requirements:Key Skills and Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.Languages: Fluency in both English and Italian (verbal and written).Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) for financial analysis and modeling.Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Knowledge of accounting principles, financial control, and auditing processes.Experience:1-3 years of experience in finance, preferably in renewable energy, project finance, or related sectors.Experience with project finance in solar or renewable energy projects is a plus.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with renewable energy policies, incentives, and project financing structures.Knowledge of financial modeling for solar projects, including PPA (Power Purchase Agreements), CAPEX, and OPEX analysis.Benefits:Competitive salary.Opportunities for professional development and growth in a rapidly expanding industry.Be a part of a mission-driven company working towards a sustainable future.
