Application Engineer Job Description Our client is an online manufacturing platform that connects companies to a global network of manufacturing services and is looking for a: Application Engineer. From 3D printing to CNC machining, from prototyping to end-part production, it makes custom part manufacturing accessible and reliable. The core services are Business and Technical advisory, Product Engineering, Production, and Quality Control supporting customers through its advanced digital platform or dedicated Sales and Engineering teams.

The candidate shall be responsible within the Product & Engineering Team for supporting customer requests by taking care of the advisory on technologies, materials, and the technical execution of the product Design for Additive, simulation, and validation according to business, economic, and technical targets.

Main Responsibilities Support the customer with advisory to choose the proper solution within the broad portfolio of technologies and materials according to business, economic, technical targets. Support the customer with advisory to choose the proper product development and design strategy along the whole product lifecycle out of the several features offered and constantly updated by the company. Execute the technical development of the customer products, ensuring on-time production and delivery according to quality standards. Execute Design for Additive Manufacturing, physics optimization (CAE), process simulation activities on customer products ensuring on-time delivery. Coordinate with and support the Chief Product Officer (CPO) on product engineering, design, and manufacturing standards, as well as online services content improvements to always provide customers with the best quality solutions. Be aligned and support the Eco-System Manager to provide technical expertise for the supply base portfolio continuous improvement (Engineering, Raw materials, Manufacturing, Post-processing, Testing). Be aligned and support the Cost Specialist to provide technical expertise for cost model and cost optimization continuous improvement. Be aligned and support the Sales and Marketing teams to provide technical expertise and advisory to disclose opportunities along the pre-sales activities. Be constantly aware of the state of the art of the technologies, materials, design for Additive solutions & tools, and production process improvements to act as Additive Manufacturing subject matter expert. Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering discipline. 3-5 years of prior experience within a cross-functional team, Engineering, or project environment – required. At least 2 years of project management and product development experience including managing multiple complex projects with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results – required. DFSS Black Belt certification and/or OpEX project previous experience - preferred. Knowledge of the Additive Manufacturing technology and market - required. International education and/or work experience (e.g., ISP, Erasmus, etc.) – preferred. High level of oral and written communication skills in English – required. Good knowledge of process simulation software such as Materialise Magics and/or similar - required. Good knowledge of Office 365 suite - required. Good knowledge of GD&T basics (ASME, ISO) -required. Good knowledge of Design for Additive software such as NX Mach3 for Additive, nTopology, or similar - required. Good knowledge of CAE tools such as Siemens SimCenter 3D, Altair Inspire, or similar - preferred. Management and Soft Skills Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and communication methods to work effectively with different customers and suppliers. High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with different customers and suppliers. High team working attitude. Strong decisional agility, bias for action, and problem-solving skills, especially in unusual and complex topics.
