Join Hitachi Energy and work in a team that is dedicated to creating a future where innovative digital technologies allow greater access to cleaner energy.General information:As RD Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Technology Center in Italy- Monselice, an organization leading continuous research and development activities on transformers.
As part of our RD Technology Center, you will contribute to the development of projects related to the mechanical performance of power transformers.As a member of a highly skilled Technology Center, part of the global Hitachi Energy RD community, you will run projects and contribute to the successful project's roadmap execution.Your responsibilities:Propose and Develop new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers.Lead and manage RD projects self-driven on time, on budget, and on quality following internal standards and processes.Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers.Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.Develop, manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g.
customers, universities).
Providing proposals for possible partnerships.Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your backgroundMaster's degree in mechanical engineering.More than 5 years of experience, better if in transformers business, either in RD projects, power transformers mechanical design or University research.High level of knowledge in the required areas for the transformer technology will be considered a plus.Experience with advance numerical simulations (e.g.
mechanical simulations and fluid dynamic simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (e.g.
Ansys, Comsol, Catia) and implementation of own solutions.Professional knowledge in 3D CAD modelling software PTC CREO (or in alternative other 3D software like CATIA SolidWorks or SolidEdge) and PDM/PLM software (WindChill or equivalent).A good knowledge of CREO Rules Engine tool, Python, or other programming language will be considered a plus.Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.Knowledge in ACT and APDL programming in Ansys shall be well valued.Experimental stress analysis structural testing knowledge will be valued.Experience with project management activities.Spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking with a high level of self-motivation.A collaborative, structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.Fluent spoken and written English.More about us:Bring your very own sense of pride and purpose as you help us drive forward the Fourth Industrial Revolution – creating a sustainable future for our planet, and your career.
