We are looking for a hands-on, Network Engineer who is just as passionate about network technology, optical equipments and routers as well as improving network processes, solution design and achieving new milestones.
The Network Engineer becomes part of an enthusiastic team where entrepreneurship, intensive cooperation, an open attitude and pragmatism are central to the culture.
Our ideal candidate has an in-depth understanding of the technical landscape of optical infrastructure and active network technology. Combining deep knowledge of networking, security and the capacity to formulate important network decision-making based on business and customer requirements. Capable to autonomously execute and manage projects and processes with our team and third parties.
Portfolio and responsibilities: Technical support or execution of sold customer circuits and expansion of our active (layer 2) "XNET" connections.Technical support for the CTO / network architect in both active and passive connections; innovation, monitoring and expansion of technical possibilitiesManage ECI SDN server, customer circuits (within SDN), roll out of logical optical network paths.Testing dark fiber, Selecting and Testing Optical line cards, responsible for the lab.Activate quality checks of delivered connections through measurements (including outsourcing) and monitoring per active customer port.Quality checks on delivered work by third parties.Quality checks recurring on data center (POP) installationsCommissioning, planning and delivering data centers (POPs) independently or in cooperation with partners in accordance with standards and operating procedures.Participate in NOC activities and 24×7 standby services.General management of the Fiber Telecom's network including management of our data centersManage Layer 1 XNET / WDM-ODF / control and use Fiber Telecom standardsManage Layer 3 XNET / Security connection with third partiesManagement of locations of the active and passive components.Participate in technical / commercial brainstorming sessionsDialogue with / supporting sales and deliveryHands-on, autonomous and practical approach, where necessary solving things yourself technicallyFiber Telecom expects the candidate to have: An open, critical and pragmatic view of technology, team and deployment of resourcesA sense of ownership of one's own domain, cooperative towards overlapping domainsKnowledge of network securityStrong communication and proactiveExcellent level of the English languageDriver's license B, traveling independently through EuropeFiber Telecom offers: Full-time employment (40 hours)Growth potential within the role itself as well as leadership opportunityHelp build the success of a new player with major European ambitionsA wide diversity of activities and a grip on the further fulfillment of one's own responsibilitiesFlexible working schedule and relaxed dress codeAvailability of a car (via reimbursement or made available by Fiber Telecom)Short lines, a lot of independenceBecause Fiber Telecom is a fast-growing organization and the level of its services likes to be higher than the other players in the industry, the Senior Network Engineer is also expected to make an active contribution to process improvement and the associated procurement issues and team expansions.
