Center Aide, Gender & Sexuality Student Resource Center Hourly Rate:$16.78 per hour; non-exempt classification 
Duration: Academic Year (Fall/Spring) with the possibility of extension 
Work Schedule: Academic Year 12-15 hours/week, Summer 8-10 hours/week (no more than 999 hours per calendar year.) Schedule developed with the Director, Cross Cultural Centers
Training Period: Two months with the possibility of extension 
General Statement: 
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Cross Cultural Centers, the Center Aide provides clerical support to the University-Student Union (U-SU), Cross Cultural Centers (CCC). The Center Aide is responsible for performing simple routine clerical tasks and projects for the effective operation of the Cross Cultural Centers front desk and one of the Student Resource Centers (Asian Pacific Islander, Chicana/o Latina/o, Pan African, and Gender & Sexuality).
General Duties and Responsibilities: 
Coordinates the operation of the Student Resource Centers; Provides quality customer service to the University community; Provides information and referrals about the Cross Cultural Centers, the University-Student Union, and the University to the campus community; Co-creates and publishes content on designated social media platforms; Maintains an awareness of all University-Student Union and University activities and events; Greets all guests and directs guests to the appropriate resource; Receives and screens walk-ins and other inquiries; Participates in outreach and publicity of the CCC and the University-Student Union; Assists with projects and events as needed; Ensures reception area is organized and clean; Performs other duties as assigned.  Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled Cal State LA student with a minimum of 6 undergraduate units and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0, or graduate student with at least 4 graduate units and a minimum Cal State LA cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0; Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff; Ability to interact positively and build effective working relationships; Willingness to provide effective customer service promptly and courteously; Ability to respond to walk-ins and other inquiries; Proficient oral, written, and listening skills; Strong organizational skills: the ability to prioritize, complete assigned duties, and routine tasks; Ability to learn and utilize desktop and web-based applications, and office equipment as needed; Knowledgeable and understanding of social media platforms preferred; Previous customer service experience preferred.  The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
