Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This position reports toEngineering ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesIn this role you will support the Product Engineering department managing all the activities related to the metal tools and the related processes, according to the required technical specification.
The resource will be involved in both active products and new product introduction and will be instrumental for addressing all the technical improvements.
The resource will also support the Product Engineering Department with other activities such as: product cost monitoring, product cost optimization, capex monitoring, process optimization.The work model for the role is: #LI-OnsiteYou will be mainly accountable for: • Analyzes 3D/2D technical docs for new metal components and evaluate the manufacturing feasibility.
Identify technological criticalities and suggest modifications to improve the manufacturing feasibility.
• Lead supplier efficiency evaluation, monitor robustness of external manufacturing setup (i.e.
OEE, equipment effectiveness) and ensure the compliance of the production processes respecting the targets in term of safety, cost, on-time delivery and quality.
• Support the production start-up and ramp-up of the metal tools and metal processes.
Being involved in the decision making process to allocate tools to existing suppliers.
Act as the single point of contact between the Product Engineers, suppliers and all the other ABB functions (e.g procurement, planning, RD…etc) • Support external suppliers.
• Defines the technical specs of the metal tools.
Make sure that the design and the tool development done by the external supplier meets the ABB expectations.
Support and supervise suppliers tools, sampling activities and suppliers process set up.
• Manage the product cost monitoring of all the family breakers produced.
Support the Product Engineering department in assessing and addressing all the improvement activities which may provide benefit without losing safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate the POD (Product Optimization Design) process for the being the focal point for all the activities within the factory.
Monitor the cost saving coming from the POD activities and follow up with all the relevant functions.
• Support the Product Engineering Manger with the Capex monitoring (for both product and process capex).Qualifications for the role You enjoy working with manufacturing technologies.
You have few years of experience in a similar position.
Possess an enhanced knowledge of products and product cost .
You are passionate about team working, speediness and problem solving.
You are innovative in deliver results by taking responsibility to execute assigned tasks and projects.
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
