A start-up IT company seeks an Accounting Controller.

?Responsibilities and Duties?
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Present financial reports to senior management, stakeholders, and board members.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish budgetary goals and monitor performance against targets.
- Prepare financial forecasts and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Financial Analysis:
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement initiatives.
- Perform financial modeling to support business planning and investment decisions.

Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Oversee the audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure adherence to best practices.

Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Implement cash management strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risks.
- Evaluate financing options and manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.

Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of financial deliverables.

?Qualifications and Skills?
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with at least 10 years of relevant experience with emphasis in a managerial role.
3. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
4. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
5. Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
6. Demonstrated ability to take initiative in problem-solving and adapt to a fast-changing environment, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
7. Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
9. Japanese language skills and experience in Japanese business settings are preferred.
