As we continue to push boundaries and expand our product offerings, we are seeking a talented and innovative Product Manager to lead our eyewear product development and innovation efforts.
**Position Overview**:
As a Product Developer/Manager specializing in safety eyewear, including prescription eyewear, your primary responsibility is to oversee the development and management of a range of safety eyewear products.
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing & Product Officer, this role requires a deep understanding of safety standards, market trends, and customer needs, as well as strong project management skills to bring new products from concept to market.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Development**:
- Research and identify market trends, customer preferences, and safety regulations related to safety eyewear, including prescription eyewear.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to conceptualize and develop new safety eyewear products that meet safety standards and address customer needs.
- Manage the product development process from ideation through prototyping, testing, and final production, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
**Safety Compliance**:
- Stay up-to-date on industry safety standards and regulations, ensuring all safety eyewear products comply with relevant requirements.
- Work closely with regulatory affairs teams to obtain necessary certifications and approvals for safety eyewear products.
**Market Analysis and Strategy**:
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and expansion in the safety eyewear market, including assessing competitor products and pricing strategies.
- Develop product positioning and pricing strategies based on market research and competitive analysis.
**Stakeholder Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, operations, and supply chain to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product support.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source materials, manage production schedules, and maintain quality standards.
**Customer Engagement**:
- Gather feedback from customers, safety professionals, and industry experts to continuously improve existing products and identify opportunities for new product development.
- Provide product training and support to sales teams, distributors, and end-users as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, product design, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in product development and management, preferably in the safety eyewear industry.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to eyewear, including ANSI/ISEA, AS/NZS, EN & ISO 16321 standards.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and customer feedback to drive product strategy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
