FIU has semester and summer FIU faculty-led programs in architecture, social sciences, and hospitality and tourism management, as well as a semester program for undergraduates of any major with courses in political science, European history and art history taught by Italian professors. The FIU in Genoa program, with 19 years of operation in Genoa and approximately 700 participating students as of summer 2024, is searching to fill the position of Program Manager.Job Summary: The program manager's primary responsibilities are the day-to-day operations of FIU in Genoa, including but not limited to: coordination of the activities and use of the program center, participation in group activities and trips, arranging student and faculty housing, addressing the legal requirements of the program, managing the maintenance of the physical facilities, and availability in case of emergency.Responsibilities:Coordinate all logistical arrangements for FIU education abroad programs and orient the students and the faculty upon their arrival with information about the location and the expectations of the program. Coordinate group academic travel in Italy and Europe with FIU faculty and local travel agency. Coordinate student and faculty housing in Genoa in conjunction with our regular housing agency. Manage cultural activities, academic related activities, and vendor relationships. Provide support in case of emergency (24/7). Provide accurate communication to students, faculty and staff both in Genoa and with FIU's Global Offices. Maintain the FIU in Genoa social media. Develop and maintain our relationships with University of Genoa, city government of Genoa, and other established and potential partners. Manage and maintain the physical facilities. Address the legal aspects of the program in Italy and the requirements of student and faculty presence during their stay.Candidaterequirements:This is a stand-alone position, so the candidate must be able to handle a variety of tasks with a degree of autonomy, as well as collaborate with local Genoa agencies (housing, travel, cleaning, etc.) and maintain steady communication with the relevant offices of FIU in Miami. Must be a citizen of an EU country or be legally eligible to work in Italy Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience or a Master's degree and two years of related experience. Experience with managing internationally located US university-level education programs. Availability to work flexible hours. Availability to travel.Familiarity with Genoa and its cultural and social aspects. Familiarity with the academic component of the programs.Candidate preferences: Very good knowledge/fluency in written and spoken English and Italian Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe ReaderDemonstrate attention to detail and follow throughAbility to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner Ability to interact effectively with others Ability to relate to a culturally diverse community Strong problem resolution skills Effective interpersonal skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
