DescriptionThe Food and Beverage (FB) Back of House (BOH) Intern is a temporary position for students enrolled in the INSPIRE Culinary Academy program, responsible for gaining hands on experience in a dynamic kitchen environment, working closely with different FB Team Members to learn about various cooking techniques, kitchen operations and the FB industry.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in the preparation and production of foods for the Food Court, restaurants, Team Member Dining Room and Events.May be asked to assist in the food preparation on the line for the Food Court or restaurants.Safely uses sharp knives as well as electrical slicing and mixing equipment following TRCR safety policies.Keeps all foods dated and rotated as required per the first in first out procedure.Closely follows procedures and recipes set forth by FB management.Properly cleans and sanitizes prep work prep work and other kitchen areas as needed.Closely follows the FB department health and personal hygiene policy.Assists in other FB areas as instructed by FB management.Other duties as directed by management.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.SERVICE COMMITMENTS - Exceptional Guest Service is key to the success of Three Rivers Casino Resort and each of our Team Members.

Your commitment will help us meet our Purpose.EVERY DAY, WE DELIVER UNCOMMONLY KIND EXPERIENCES THAT CONNECT PEOPLE TO THE COAST.RequirementsEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITYMinimum age requirement for this position is 18 years old.Must be enrolled and participating in the INSPIRE Culinary Academy program and be recommended by the Program to work at TRCR.Possess or obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
