For an international Insurance Broker, we are looking for a Cat. Modelling Analyst.
This international insurance Broker is based in Milan, servicing clients in the Italian market while also interacting with colleagues across Europe and globally.
The role is in the Global cat. modelling team based in Milan, and you will be responsible for:
Working closely with brokers and other Analytics members to gather and assess clients' cat. exposure data to understand and proactively address the potential impact of natural and man-made catastrophes.Managing cat. modelling projects with senior team members and having the opportunity to work on various clients, contributing to a wide range of innovative cat. modelling initiatives.Organizing client data, checking data for reasonability, loading data into cat. models, running the models, and sharing output with senior colleagues to help determine the client's degree of risk.Additional responsibilities include:
Performing basic calculations with client data to assess a range of risk exposures and predict outcomes for clients in support of the reinsurance transaction process.Developing knowledge in certain region-based or peril-based areas of cat. risk management services through research or experience in order to advance professionally and gain recognition as an expert in the industry.Preparing summaries, presentations, and reports for client projects to summarize potential risks and loss results, and to make recommendations to the client about how they can improve their portfolio.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative or natural sciences field such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, operations research, finance, or economics.Preferably 2 years of experience in a technical related role at a reinsurance broker, sophisticated re/insurer, or may have gained experience at a leading cat. models.Demonstrated ability to learn analytical concepts quickly.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and financial aptitude.Experience using Microsoft SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, or Power BI.Understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry and product lines.Technical expertise working with Verisk, RMS.We promote a culture of internal mobility, collaboration, and valued partnership across the firm.
