Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Position SummaryThe searched figure will be involved in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities of mechatronic systems, including mechanics, electronics and software.In this role, the candidate is expected to collaborate with the rest of the team in defining, planning and performing testing campaign of mechatronic systems, leveraging Systems Engineering techniques with a holistic approach.Depending on the on-going projects and roles, V&V Engineer's activities may include the following:Support the Definition of V&V plans of mechatronic systemsDevelop and improve testing request workflow and V&V activities executionUtilization of tools and methods for software validation and calibrationLaboratory and field testing activitiesExperimental data post-processing and analysisPreparation, organization and presentation of project documentation (design documents, technical reports, costs analysis)Main opportunities and challenge:Opportunities:Work in a stimulating environmentAccess to multi-disciplinary expertiseTechnical and professional growthChallenges:Development/application of state-of-art technologiesCommunication with Management and LeadershipMain ResponsibilitiesApplication of Systems Engineering principles and workflow defined by the One Dana Mechatronic System development approachV&V activities planningSupport the Development Team in the build of Design Validation PlanSupport the V&V Testing Team in the execution of Design Validation Tests and report the resultsValidation of mechatronic systems (hardware, software, eMotors)On field vehicle testing and performance evaluationReport out of V&V activities updates to management and leadershipContinuous enhancement of Environment, Health & Safety cultureJob Position RequirementsEducation: University Master Degree in Electronic/Mechatronic/Automation Engineering.Professional Background: 2-4 years experience in industry/academia on mechatronics projects. Preferably including experimental/laboratory activities .Hard Skills :Essential:Very good engineering basicsGood spoken and written EnglishKnowledge of most common electric motors technology type (PMAC, ACIM, SynRM)Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Technical background in power electronics products such as inverter and power convertersExperience in debugging/testing with laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, function generator, power analyzer, etc.)Accuracy on project deliveries following internal processesConsidered as a plus:Knowledge of DSP and micro-controller architecturesProduct Development in accordance with functional safety standardsFamiliarity with industriual CAN communication protocols (e.g. J1939, canOPEN, UDS)Vector VectorCast/CanAlyzer/CanApe/Candela StudioMIL/HIL testing environmentsMatlab/SimulinkdSpace software validation toolchainSoft Skills :Attitude to Project ManagementDemonstrated ability to be proactive and think forwardAble to work focused on targets, take responsibility and able to drive project resultsAble to work independently and cooperatively with a largely diverse cross functional group and international multi-cultural environmentStrong Teamwork approach and organizations skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsReliable team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates different inputsDynamic, quick thinking, hardworking individual who leads by example.
