System Engineer Job Description

SPEA S.p.A., a world leader in testing systems for semiconductors and electronic boards, seeks a System Engineer.

The ideal candidate will design machinery for electronic device testing using a multidisciplinary approach to integrate electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and software components.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer specifications with the project team and product leader.
  • Select electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components.
  • Evaluate machine component costs.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical team on integrating machine components.
  • Define software functionality with the software team.
  • Control system sizing (MathCad and/or Simulink expertise required).
  • Design electrical panels and wiring.
  • Create electrical schematics.
  • Organize and create the bill of materials and control related costs.
  • Draft technical files.
  • Draft requirements for operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Define testing and diagnostics requirements.
  • Supervise assembly and first product validation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechatronics or electronic engineering.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and electromechanics.
  • Electronics, component, and PCB design knowledge.
  • Motion control systems and component elements knowledge.
  • MATLAB and Simulink simulation system knowledge.
  • Electrical/electronic drafting package knowledge (Eplan Suite, Orcad, Mentor).
  • SolidWorks 3D and 2D drawing knowledge.
  • Computer vision and robotics skills appreciated.
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.
  • Predisposition to teamwork and problem-solving.
