**Job Purpose**
We are looking for a R&D Material Engineer internship reporting directly to the Head of Tread Compound Development. This is a Local/regional/EMIA role, based in Rome (Italy).
He/she will be responsible to carry out the project in all its phases: literature search, design and testing and results interpretation/elaboration.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct a literature search related to the project purpose
- Operate with general facilities in the material lab
- Design of experiments thinking including data analysis and technical report preparation
- New methods to characterize the compound final properties
- Interpreting data in proper context to present them to the team
- Performing mathematical calculations and preparation of graphs with suitable software
- Work effectively with R&D researchers, staff, technicians, and management of Bridgestone Technical Center Europe, actively taking part to R&D cross-functional teams
- Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
**Requirements**:
- Master Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or any other related field of study
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience in polymer processing and characterization techniques
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Goal-oriented, motivated, creative and collaborative. Able to work within teams
