**Duties**:
- Provide ambulatory primary healthcare and physical examinations for eligible active duty personnel, retirees, all family members and other beneficiaries.
- Interview patients and takes comprehensive medical histories
- Develop and/or revise protocols and standards of care, in association with other members of the medical staff.
- Provide emergency or crisis intervention, including lifesaving emergency procedures, when appropriate.

- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

- Basic Requirements for Physician Assistant:Education: Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Certification: Successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified mid-level provider, including completion of all requirements for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and re-certification.
- Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Exemption: You are exempt from the license requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0603 or 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
- In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
- Experience: A minimum of one full year of work experience as a certified physician assistant equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes interviewing patients and taking comprehensive medical history; providing ambulatory primary healthcare and physical examinations for patients This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
