IDC Energy Insights is seeking for a research manager for its fast growing European energy research and advisory practice.. The successful candidate will work with with a team of leading energy analysts recognized worldwide as industry experts and will deliver independent research and client advice on the impact of digital transformation in the utilities industry. Coverage will range from the use of technology to transform core asset, customer and people operations, to the development of new products, services and business models across the utilities' value chain, including energy and water production, distribution and supply.. Responsibilities. The role of the research manager is trulymulti-faceted and offers the possibility to demonstrate genuine thought-leadership at the intersection of energy and technology innovation. Beyond developing independent syndicated research, the successful candidate will also play an active role in custom research and consultancy engagements performed for a variety of clients including technology vendors and energy companies.. The role's main responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating primary research for Energy Insights subscription services;. Producing regular insightful content for Energy Insights subscription services;. Responding to client inquiries;. Delivering consulting projects as subject matter expert;. Collaborating with colleagues in other business units on shared research publications;. Supporting Sales & Marketing campaigns in pursuit of new business opportunities;. Delivering media interviews to continously raise the profile of IDC Energy Insights.. Qualifications. The position calls for a highly motivated individual who possesses outstanding writing, presentation, and client interaction skills. These capabilities will ideally have been developed over the past 5 to 7 years in a recognized analyst role concentrating on the applied use of technology in utilitiesoperations and, as a second priority in the broader energy context.. Applicants with previous work experience with IT vendors, consultancies, equipment manufacturers and energy and utility organizations will also be considered.. Fluency in written and oral English is a must. Fluency in a second or third European language is a plus. In normal conditions, the role will involve travel, predominantly in Europe but also to other regions..
