**Location**:Based at Community Hub Stroud with travel across the county**

**Hours: 22.5 hours per week**

Guideposts’ purpose is to support people living with learning disability, dementia, mental health issues and caring responsibilities to have a better quality of life by providing them with support and the opportunity to fulfil their aspirations and maximise their potential. We seek to achieve excellence in our work and lead the way in researching, delivering, and disseminating good practice.

We run a mixture of 1:1 befriending services, social and peer support groups, and connector schemes, helping people to meet up in their local area or socialise virtually from home. Our services offer a safe setting where you can meet new people, get out and about in your local area, and make long-lasting connections.

Guideposts CONNECT social groups are dementia-friendly friendship and support groups in Gloucestershire for people living with long term health conditions, people caring for a relative or friend, and those looking to make new local friendships.

**Purpose**
- To provide operational support to the Community Opportunities Manager and service coordinators in the effective running of the community services and projects in the county.
- To develop, deliver and promote the Guideposts community services and projects in line with the development plan.
- To provide a communication link and facilitate collaboration with the churches and stakeholders to engage new members and volunteers for the CONNECT groups.
- To support the stakeholders’ volunteers to navigate the support options for people with dementia and their carers.

**Our successful Services Coordinator will**:

- Take responsibility for making day to day decisions on operational matters and working collaboratively with other service coordinators to ensure the effective running of the services.
- Consult with local churches and other stakeholders to engage new volunteer support.
- Work with churches and stakeholders to help them support their volunteers as they engage with people with dementia and their carers.
- Promote the CONNECT services within the local community and beyond to reach out to potential new service users, their supporters, and other stakeholders.
- Act as a central point of contact between the CONNECT Services and churches, plus other stakeholders. Ensure that all the information shared is accurate and understood by all parties involved.
- Foster links and facilitate collaboration between the CONNECT services and Churches, plus other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders. Develop a deep understanding of their needs, expectations, and concerns. Act as their advocate to ensure their interests are represented and addressed.
- Identify and resolve issues or escalate to ensure that issues or conflicts are resolved. Foster a positive and mutually beneficial working environment.
- Monitor and update project data as required.
- Support the organisation of Guideposts in house dementia training and resources for the stakeholders if required.
- Assist with ensuring financial procedures are adhered to.
- Assist with approving staff expenses and timesheets.
- Contribute to evaluation of services performance
- Attend networks, events and meetings with other organisations, develop partnerships and take advantage of appropriate opportunities to promote and raise awareness of the services and increase attendance.
- Deputise for the Community Opportunities Manager as required.
