**Key** **Responsibilities**
- To support the Italian Underwriting Manager (D&O) with the business planning to grow the Italian D&O portfolio
- Arranging Broker visits to establishing new Liberty Specialty Markets Italy business relationships and grow new business
- Ability to underwrite complex risks and deal with underwriting referrals from within the Italian team or externally from Coverholders.
- Underwriting of D&O Insurance products.
- Production of offers (new business and renewal business); discussion and negotiation with brokers.
- Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and personal authority to meet business objectives, including: Negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business
- Compliance with the production and issue of documentation in accordance with contract certainty requirements
- Represent and promote LSM in Italy as a whole: establish and maintain relationships to facilitate the marketing of LSM products to the broker community and actively participate in the development of new products.
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.

**Skills** **and** **Experience**
- Professional experience in the insurance industry (D&O)
- Deep knowledge of Casualty product.
- Highly reliable
- Strong service oriented, high level of self-motivation
- Good working knowledge of English language
- Good MS-Office skills
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
- Strong level of numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Use of pricing tools and loss models
- Established customer/broker relationships
- Requires an advanced knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques, including, but not limited to coverage issues, product lines, marketing, computers and product competition within the marketplace.
- Advanced knowledge of a technical specialty and ability to market other areas credibly.
- The ability to effectively interact with brokers and internal departments is also required.
- Ability to act on initiative due to time and day differences when working with European offices
- Strong verbal and written communications, and organizational skills. Good English, spoken and written, is essential.
