**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

British American Tobacco Italia is looking for a hardworking and brilliant Legal Counsel to issue opinions and recommendations from a legal point of view to all departments of the Company in compliance with Applicable Legislation and Internal Procedures.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Issues legally based opinions and recommendations to all departments of the Company, in a timely manner, regarding the Company's products, considering the applicable national and European legislation, but also all internal Policies.
- Monitors legislative changes and interprets the legal framework in which the Company operates from the perspective of legislation applicable to tobacco products and electronic devices, as well as other new generation products that are launched in Italy, excise goods legislation (tax warehousing conditions, production, movement of excisable products, authorizations, etc.), competition legislation, administrative legislation (i.e. 231/01), consumer protection legislation, legislation applicable to electronic commerce and other applicable laws (collectively, "Applicable Legislation"), to ensure compliance.
- Review marketing materials, promotion regulations, promotion actions in sales channels, promotion actions at events, etc. to align with Applicable Legislation and Internal Procedures (for example but not limited to International Marketing Principles, Digital Marketing Principals, Youth Access Prevention).
- Prepares or revises different types of contracts to align with Applicable Law and Internal Procedures (for example, but not limited to the Standard of Business Conduct, Supplier Code of Conduct).
- Prepares or revises the articles of incorporation of the Company and other documents necessary for the registration of entries with the Trade Register.
- Legal assistance during the development of Projects in which is mandated to represent the Legal Department.
- Issues opinions related to labor law.
- Builds effective relationships with other members of the Legal Department.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues from other departments.

**BENEFICIAL**:

- Previous experience in a highly regulated industry is considered a plus.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Law degree
- Very good verbal and written communication skills both in Italian and English.
- Ability to adapt to change and identify opportunities.
- Dynamic, quick learner, proactive spirit.
- Experience in International law firms or highly regulated industries.
- Expertise in advertising, privacy law and e-commerce legislation will be a plus.
