**Department overview**:
The Precision Oncology Unit (POU) at the AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM-ETS) is seeking a Translational/Clinical Project Manager. The POU works as the go-between of basic/translational and clinical research by:
- Developing and managing, master observational trials to feed basic/translational researchers with annotated longitudinal clinical data and samples on one side, and to promote real-world evidence studies to sustain the discovery of new predictive & prognostic biomarkers on the other one (also exploiting Artificial Intelligence-based approaches);
- Designing implementing managing and analyzing
- real-world cohort studies to discover/validate new predictive composite biomarkers, including AI based molecularly informed radiopathomics.
- cutting-edge proof-of-concept clinical trials developed from the grounds of basic/translational research discoveries;
- confirmatory large scale translational-dense trials, focusing in colorectal cancer.
POU is funded by major charities and pharma-related supportive grants and is embedded in two large consortia of multidisciplinary research in the field of colorectal and breast cancer.
**Profile Description**:
The junior Translational/Clinical Project Manager will report directly to the POU Group leader and will be involved in the whole process of clinical trial design, management and analysis including, but not limited to:
- **Contribute** to the study and protocol design, by collaborating to the writing of all accessory documents (such as Informed Consent, eCRF development, Manuals, SOPs etc).
- **Collaborate** in the daily clinical and logistic trial management activities (such as regulatory documentation archiving, organization of samples shipments, preparation of trial reports).
- **Develop** study-specific documentation and execute/coordinate remote monitoring and cleaning procedures to guarantee high data quality and develop reports.
- **Coordinate** with clinical sites to make sure data is collected, managed and reported clearly, accurately and securely, overseeing the workflow of inconsistencies resolution.
The junior Translational/Clinical Project Manager is expected to manage 2/3 studies, depending on their nature (therapeutic vs observational) and complexity (technological content, geographic spread etc.).
**Qualifications and Skills**:
Mandatory requirements
- MSc in life sciences (MD and/or PhD will be preferred), with experience in cancer research (colorectal and/or breast cancer desirable).
- Strong commitment and passion in science (as determined by CV).
- Experience in independent management of a project..
- Problem solving attitude, specifically being pro-active, collaborative, critically creative and able to work independently under the pressure of deadlines.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English (experience of scientific presentations will be preferred).
- Good IT Knowledge (Microsoft Office Pack; ability to use statistical analysis software will be preferred).
The following are considered plus requisites
- Previous involvement in translational programs.
- Master and/or previous experience in clinical research.
- Previous experience in manuscript and grant proposal writing.
- Comprehension of what Data Lakes are.
- Experience with AI protocols
