To best support our customers in their transition to data-driven decision-making, Intecs Solutions is looking to expand its Machine Learning Laboratory with a Junior Data Scientist to be inserted in its offices.
As a Junior Data Scientist, you will be supervised by senior professionals of the Machine Learning Laboratory in your professional grow path and you will be involved in all the phases of a Data Science project lifecycle including: collection of requirements, State of the Art’s analysis, explorative data analysis, design, development and training of the machine learning based solution, validation, testing and deployment to the operative scenario.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Design, implement, validate and test cutting-edge Machine Learning and Deep learning solutions
- Write software that ensures high accuracy and speed performances, maintainability, scalability, reusability and reliability upon deployment
- Read scientific research papers, re-implement them and customize solutions according to company needs and customer requirements
- Extract semantic patterns and useful insights from data
- Train machine learning models, collect results on validation datasets and iterate for model optimization
- Prepare presentations and participate in technical meetings, with the possibility of short travels in Italy and abroad
- Draft technical documentations
- Contribute to the drafting of research papers for conference proceedings and peer-review journals
- Contribute to the drafting of technical proposals for national and international research initiatives
**Qualifications**:
- Passion for AI technology
- Willingness to learn and ability to adapt to changing and challenging scenarios
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Knowledge of Python
- Knowledge of the main packages for Machine Learning: numpy, pandas, matplotlib, sklearn
- Knowledge of the framework Tensorflow for deep learning and frontend Keras
- Knowledge of Jupyter notebook and one IDE among Pycharm, Visual Studio Code, Spyder or equivalent
- Experience with Git versioning control system
- Good background in statistics and machine learning (classification, regression and clustering)
- Master Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or equivalent with a degree grade of at least 103/110
- Ability to present the results of the work to both technical and not technical audiences
- Good knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
**Nice to have**:
- Knowledge of PyTorch
- Knowledge of Matlab and/or R
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to propose original solutions to improve our products and services
- Good background in Deep Learning for classification, detection and segmentation tasks
