ABB Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) are a global leader in power distribution solutions, delivering pioneering low and medium-voltage innovations and services. ABB ELDS want to proactively address all the sustainability and environmental aspects of ELDS portfolio and become leading player on the market. To be champions, we are looking for enthusiastic and highlight motived collaborators that, becoming part of our Global Sustainability Team in the Electrification Distribution Solution (ELDS) business, will contribute to assure our products, solutions and services are more and more sustainable and eco-friendly.

**This position reports to**:
R&D Team Lead

**Your responsibilities**:

- Be the expert on legislations and regulations applicable to the environment and in particular to chemical substances used in ELDS products.
- Promote within the organization whatever needed to react to regulation processes, looking after to establish proper support and collaborate with different functions (e.g. supply chain management, operations, product management, governmental relations etc.) in monitoring, interpreting and creating awareness on material-related regulations to assure ELDS Products portfolio sustainability and compliance Cross Business Area exchange with other chemicals regulation/material compliance experts Represent ABB in national and European trade associations on chemical substance regulation topics.
- Develop joint industry opinions, position papers and other inputs to political and regulatory processes.
- Support the ELDS Product Sustainability strategy with actions and initiatives (e.g. execution of life-cycle assessment analyses, achievement of environmental declarations in accordance to standards and legislations, promotion of the ABB Circularity Approach, actively monitoring sustainability and environmental legislation).

**Your background**:

- Master’s degree in chemistry, material science, or a related field.
- Previous work experience (at least 2 years) in material compliance.
- Familiarity with global environmental regulations, including REACH, RoHS or Conflict Minerals.
- Ability to write well-structured and well-reasoned reports, proposals and documents.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational capabilities.
- Attention to details while keeping the overall picture in mind.
- Ability to switch fast between different topics, understand complex ecosystems and navigate cross-functional collaboration landscape.
- Excellent communications skills in English.
- Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad when requested by the assigned activities.
