With two campuses - a Junior School in the heart of Rome and a further Junior and Senior School
based in La Storta in the cityʼs northwestern suburbs, the school is seeking ambitious teachers who
can contribute to the exciting next phase of our development.

Deputy Head of Junior School
Centre Junior School to provide leadership andmanagement and to ensure the effective running
of the school, overseeing the safe and successful delivery of outstanding learning and teaching
across all phases. The Deputy Head of Junior School is a member of the St Georgeʼs Strategy Team,
involved in policy making and contributing to whole-school decision making.

The St Georgeʼs City Centre School is home to 200 pupils from Red Dragons (Nursery) through to
Year 6. The City Centre team collaborates closely with the partner teams at the La Storta Junior
School and the Senior School. A short walk from the Vatican, the City Centre campus has been
based at its current premises since 2017 - offering purpose-fitted, highly equipped classrooms and
a warm, caring community feeling.

The role is available on a full-time basis from September 2023. A January 2024 start may also be
considered.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Tomonitor Teaching and Learning, evaluate and review classroom practices and to

promote improvement strategies
- To track the progress of each pupil in conjunction with the Head and Phase Coordinators

- To foster a culture of teamwork, inclusivity and collaboration, and to support andmotivate

teammembers
- To serve as the penultimate point of reference for pupil discipline and pupil welfare
- To lead whole-school projects in collaboration with other staff across the City Centre and
- La Storta sites- To support the Head in implementing actions from the schoolʼs Strategic Plan
- To provide tailored support to newmembers of staff
- To build andmaintain strong links with the schoolʼs wider community and to promote the

achievements of pupils

**Teaching and Learning**
- To encourage all pupils to reach their academic potential through enthusiastic and

personalised teaching, tailored challenge, rigorous record keeping and follow up
- To be aware of, and comply with, all school policies including those for marking and

assessment, teaching and learning and reporting
