We are looking for a talented **Engineering Manager**,** who will be responsible for leading the engineering department in the Italian headquarters. The engineering manager leads the European engineering department. Operations consists of two departments, technical service and project management. They will need to cooperate with the R&D department and project management teams.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Leading Engineering departments in the Italian headquarter
- Business planning and monitoring progress in real-time and analyzing data
- Supporting to define and executing of engineering strategy
- Providing technical guidance to project management, technical service and sales
- Finding and implementing ways to improve cost-efficiency
- Relationship management to key client stakeholders (existing and potential customers)
- Understanding the competitive landscape and market trends
- Health and safety responsibility for employees
- Coordinating with contractors and suppliers
- Directing and supporting the evaluation of projects
- Managing the resolution of any delays
- Hiring and training new engineering staff
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Managing materials and equipment budget
- Help your engineers grow their skills and experience
- Run agile project management processes
- Provide guidance and coaching to team members on technical contributions, product architecture, and other areas
- Maintain empathy for the team by keeping awareness of engineering processes and practices
- Actively seek and hire globally-distributed talent
- Generate and implement process improvements
- Hold regular 1:1s with all members of their team
- Give regular and clear feedback around the individual’s performance
- Foster technical decision making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary
- Improve product quality, security, and performance
- May have more than one specialty on their team, per our shared manager team concept

**Qualifications**:

- Engineer (Dipl.Ing.), Master or Bachelor of Science or Engineering.
- Detailed knowledge in electronics, automation systems, measurement and test engineering.
- Detailed experience about safety of complex technical equipment
- Min. 5 years of work experience in engineering machines or in equivalent field
- Min. 3 years of experience in special purpose machinery manufacturing
- Min. 2 years of experience in quality management
- Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and system
- Flexible and a self-starter; able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented
- Good knowledge of the English language written and spoken

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Leadership skills (coaching, empowering, motivating, staffing)
- Languages: English: very good (verbal and written)
- Advanced Computer Skills in particular MS Office (in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP
- Extraordinary communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication
- Proficient at analyzing data, creating reports and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Ability to use a computer
