**The Role**:
International School of Bergamo is seeking a **Primary class teacher**, who will be able to adapt quickly to a new and exciting learning environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional, preferably with experience of the International Baccalaureate, willing to use flexible strategies in a class with students from different language backgrounds.
- experienced in teaching primary classes
- passionate about learning and able to engage students at all levels
- committed to maintaining high standards in all aspects of the work of the school
- interested in using a constructivist approach to learning, and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.
- nurturing and inspiring in developing the whole child
- a good team player who enjoys working with others
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Bachelor degree or above
- English Mother Tongue
- Hold EU passport of have already obtained the right to be employed in Italy.
- IB PYP experience/training is helpful but not required
- Knowledge and skills in ICT literacy

Our academic programme strives to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary for the 21st century. Starting from Grade 1, we run an iPad 1:1 learning project and technology is an important aspect of our school. In the Elementary and Middle School, children regularly use their iPad within lessons through a blended approach where we feel this adds value to teaching and learning and not merely to replace traditional methods. In the High School, iPads are replaced by laptops.

This is an exciting time to join our community as we expand our school programme year after year. This will include an extension of our current premises, built to meet the growing needs of our School and developments in new educational research.

The Early Years division is one of the most stimulating areas of school and the staff have a strong sense of ownership and commitment to the approaches that have been developed in school. The brand new Early Years facilities, with more than 700mq entirely dedicated to our younger students have ample classrooms with wide floor-to-ceiling windows which give direct access to a didactical area specifically designed to enable learning to occur both inside and outside the classrooms, and provide many opportunities for purposeful and stimulating learning.
