Forwarding Operator

Gi Group as a partner of MSC PROCUREMENT &
LOGISTICS is looking for a
FORWARDING OPERATOR

Specifically, the job holder will carry out the following activities:

- Organizes the shipment of goods (e.G. packing, containers import and export management, intermodal transports, truck transports - including special transports conditions such as perishable or dangerous goods)
- Arranges goods loading/unloading, return to the vendor or for repair
- Manages transportation documents, customs clearance procedures and insurance paperwork liaising with freight forwarders for customs formalities
- Monitors the goods real-time shipment status and updates ships and departments involved
- Checks that shipments are collected and delivered in accordance with the contract and applicable country regulations, while resolving any issues
- Negotiates terms of carriage with carries when logistics services are not available from contracted suppliers and manages special requests
- Delivers superior operational efficiency
- Deals with health/veterinary authorities and cites for products certification delivered to ships via CTX
- Proactively works with the departments involved providing them with logistics and customs support.

**The ideal applicant meets these requirements**:

- Previous working experience in the role in international transportation, logistics and supply chain industries, minimum 3 years
- Good knowledge of local/international carries and shipment organization
- Fluent English, any additional language is an advantage
- MS Office literate, knowledge of logistics software and platform is an advantage
- Degree in Economics Logistics and Maritime field and/or specific forwarding training
- Ability to cope well with pressure and work to deadlines
- Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and follow-up.
