Operations Director

A unique opportunity has arisen for an Operations Director to oversee our Italian Seating Operations Business Group. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations for Europe & Africa, the Operations Director will assume full P&L responsibility or 5 JIT manufacturing plants within Italy servicing some of Lear’s most premium customer groups. Overseeing an operation with more than 1800 employees and over $500M dollars in annual revenue, the Operations Director will be tasked with achieving all operational and financial objectives relating to Delivery, Efficiency, Quality, Plant P&L and EHS requirements. Moreover, this leader should create a winning team through key hiring, coaching, mentoring and driving continuous improvement initiatives as well as providing accurate and timely communication to the customer.

**Position responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to)**
- Responsibility for the overall profitability of the division by meeting forecast commitments and controlling CAPEX Spend
- Implementing key succession planning initiatives within the team to build, develop and retain talent
- Partnering with Commercial and Engineering Teams to win customer programs in line with Lear’s growth strategy
- Identifying opportunities and leading implementation plans for margin improvements
- Driving the use of Lean Manufacturing and WCM methodologies into our Italian Operations
- Working closely with central manufacturing engineering functions to define and implement industry 4.0 activities
- Collaborating closely with the Country Human Resources Director to engage on Country Union Related Topics

**To be a success in this role you must have**:

- Strong drive, determination and management skills to lead from the front and get the best out of your team
- Demonstrated experience of overseeing a comparable operational business group within T1 Automotive
- Experience in personally dealing with Work Council / Unions is a critical experience required to operate in this position
- Operational experience of dealing with automotive interior parts and/or JIT/JIS production would be advantageous.
- Strong overview and experience in managing plant financial forecasting and CAPEX spend
- Ability to interface with Executive Management and Cross Functional Teams to drive business goals and priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to deliver high level presentations to global business leaders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with fluency in English Language
- Highest level of integrity and Compliance mindset
