Professional Services within Fortinet, is an integral part of the support and services organization, as a result the Consultant will collaborate effectively with peers to drive customer success. The Consultant is a member of the Telco practice team, which is focused on the Telecommunication market.
The Professional Services Consultant works with clients and partners remotely and/or onsite on a engagements of a high complexity. The consultant has demonstrated his/her ability to participate to the customer success from the pre-sales/scoping phase to project closure.
He/she focuses on design as well as implementation aspects of project delivery, such as requirements analysis & design, firewall and enhanced security products implementation and optimization, with any related documentation. His/her ability to learn new technologies, products or solution is recognized.
The position requires a team player with an excellent written and verbal communication skills who follows a structured approach for designing & implementing of Telco security solutions. The consultant mentors team members and shares experience and knowledge every day.
As a member of the Telco practice team, the Consultant main focus would be in designing and integration of Fortinet security solutions in a wider Telco security market, which includes, but is not limited to:
Performs deployment, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of Fortinet security solutions in the customer environment. Work closely with the Project management team to ensure successful completion of projects Develops and improves project related documents with any required technical architecture diagrams. These documents might include High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, Migration Plan, Test Plan, Methods of Procedures, Network Implementation Plan, As-Built guide, etc.. Assists customers through the rollout, migration or go-live phase for the deployed security solution Participates in design workshops with customers and/or partners Delivers knowledge transfer sessions for customer's staff on the relevant Fortinet security solutions Develops a thorough understanding of the customer engagement (objectives, project scope, business and technical requirements) Leads technical conversations to clarify and assess all aspects of an engagement Proactively communicates relevant project information to customer and/or Fortinet management as appropriate Plays a driving role in scoping meetings and helps in developing statements of work with the relevant work breakdown structures based on accurate analysis of customers' requirements. Estimates work efforts Performs project risk analysis based on technical elements andimplement mitigations plans Owns and contributes to the resolution of complex technical escalations in relations to projects in delivery. Interfaces with Customers and other teams (TAC, Engineering, etc.) Reviews peer documents for technical accuracy and quality assurance Ensures that project documents are accurate, complete, current and stored appropriately Completes and submits internal required administrative tasks (timesheets, activities report, project reports, etc...) Continuously works on developing knowledge and skills to remain proficient with the relevant Fortinet technologies, and industry standards like OpenRAN, MEC, 5G, 3GPP, GSMA etc Proposes and implements changes in relation to the team or wider Professional Services community Contributes to Professional Services collateral such as templates, methodologies, best practices or lessons learned Works closely with services and sales organizations Job Requirements:
10+ years experience in professional services, consulting, support or pre-sales roles. 5+ years experience working in a Telco sector working in professional services, consulting or design roles Previous experience working for a Vendor would be a plus Technical expertise in security Solutions in Telco market with particular focus on Mobile Networks (3G/4G/5G) Deep and practical knowledge about routing and switching. In particular with:
BGP, OSPF, asymmetric routing, NAT, QOS 802.1q, LACP, ARP, VRRP IPSec Understanding of fixed and mobile networks topology and flows Theoretical and practical understanding of:
Functions and flows of MME, S/PGW, SMF, UPF, AMF, IMS etc. Knowledge of 3GPP standards especially around GTP and PFCP Roaming security GSMA IR.88, FS.20 Understanding of various logical interfaces especially S1, S8, S10, Gp, N32, N9, N4, N3 Experience with GiLAN services such as CGN, NAT64, DNS64, SIP, VAS, DDoS, Traffic Management IPv6 and SCTP Usage of virtualization technologies Public clouds AWS, Azure etc. Private clouds VMWare, Openstack Understanding of virtualization technologies like DPDK, SRIOV, VNF Containers Understanding of Application Security for software driven Telco architectures API security 5G SBA Application and network orchestration General IP security knowledge like:
Anti-Virus, Web Filtering, Application control, etc. would be a plus Excellent presentation and technical documentation skills Excellent troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to problem solving Proven ability to work independently or lead a team in a collaborative environment Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and other departments Ability to adapt seamlessly to shifting priorities, demands and timelines Flexible working hours Positive customer service attitude with excellent soft skills Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity Strong commitment, self-driven with good team leadership skills Moderate travel (up to 25%) EMEA region Education Master's Degree in technical or management discipline and/or equivalent extensive work-related experience
