**Purpose of the position/responsibility**:
Analyze and Schedule the materials requirements for direct materials components to support the Planning & Client Service Manager.

Issue POs to the supply base within material lead time to support operational needs. Coordinates with suppliers for any delayed or expedited shipments to meet functional requirements.

Responsible for material inventory for assigned materials to established goals. Works with departments to ensure that materials are available for manufacturing. Runs the MDO of expired or obsolete materials from the site’s inventory and SAP balance.

Responsible for material readiness to support the production schedule. Key activities for this include, but are not limited to:

- Material Setup and Maintenance in SAP
- Material Requirement Analysis to create the material delivery schedule.
- Creation and issuance of Purchase Orders to supply base
- Supplier follow-up for order delivery
- Lab follow-up for expedited materials to ensure readiness

Supports the activities related to system maintenance, priorities definition and reporting to ensure that MRP and other systems are up to date and adequately control inventory levels.

This position should be able to work independently with limited oversight and supervision to analyze the requirements for direct materials components, order appropriately, and ensure readiness for production.

**Assignments, specific/primary activities**:
Ø Responsible for direct materials components inventory levels to targeted values.

Ø Ensure that direct materials components are available on time not to impact production requirements.

Ø When needed, responsible to work with cross-functional groups (QC Lab, Warehouse) to expedite the release of material needed to support the manufacturing plant.

Ø Analyze MRP action messages to ensure direct materials components are available at the right time and in quantities to support the production plan.

Ø Responsible for creating and issuing delivery schedules with the supply base through Purchase Orders to vendors (define dates and quantities). Enter and update purchase orders into the planning system to align with customer-negotiated needs

Ø Responsible for system accuracy of vendor deliveries by updating incoming purchase orders.

Ø Manages and communicates changes in delivery date from suppliers to appropriate functions for priority and scheduling.

Ø Delineate appropriate inventory strategies to run adequate inventory levels. Monitor expired, obsolete and rejected material to avoid impact on the operations area.

Ø Anticipate and communicate any material shortages prior to the official publication of the detailed production schedule.

Ø Manage material conversions to minimize obsolescence, reduce the impact on customer service and align with regulatory requirements.

Ø Periodic review and validation of item masters data information such as lead times, scrap factor, lot size, order quantities, safety stocks, and yields to ensure data integrity for assigned materials.

Ø Ensure reduced obsolescence for material changes on assigned materials for material changes requested by the Client. Work with Client Service Representative to ensure readiness for new materials as well as reduce the obsolescence of the old material.

Ø Responsible for issuance, tracking and completion of MDO paperwork for assigned materials.

Ø Periodic update of procedures related to the production and materials planning process.

Ø Support Planning Manager in any other special tasks and analysis as requested.

Ø Processes challenge to improve the cost-effectiveness of material flow to the production areas.
