**Foundation Primary Years Educator (Ages 7-12)**

This is a full-time position. **We are looking for a Foundation Primary Years (Ages 7-12) Educator to join our team starting **August 2023 in Tuscany, Italy**. Online training would begin in August, and in-person duties would begin in September.**

A key responsibility of our educators is the duty of care they provide for our explorers in all areas. Learning opportunities happen all the time and our educators are responsible for actively facilitating these opportunities. The educators coach our explorers through phases of interdisciplinary units of learning, guiding and monitoring their progress along personal learning pathways.

**Primary responsibilities**
- Duty of care of all children
- Promote a sense of community and belonging within all classes and explorer groups
- Foster positive self-image and holistic wellbeing of all children, encompassing their physical, social, and emotional health
- Plan lessons in an interdisciplinary manner, incorporating local experiences in each destination
- Create authentic learning experiences and activities using the Boundless Education Questing framework
- Advise and establish goals with children and support them in reaching those goals
- Monitor and assess progress through routine use of verbal and written feedback linked directly to learning objectives
- Ensure that the learned curriculum and taught curriculum are aligned with the written curriculum
- Maximise use of educational technology tools to further child’s learning
- Provide multiple weekly updates to parents via Magic Moments or other similar platform
- Find and highlight a common thread that connects different Boundless destinations
- Take the time to connect with each individual child and provide a more personalised journey
- Provide and lead three conferences within a 3-month cohort
- Collect data to file for end of cohort Growth Trackers

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree or higher preferred).
- Minimum of three years full-time classroom experience.
- Experience working with inquiry based educational programs.
- Experience teaching in collaborative teams.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
- Knowledge of:

- Child safety and protection practices
- Age-appropriate psychological and social/emotional needs of children
- Research-supported instructional techniques.
- A range of assessment strategies and learning activities.
- Subject knowledge and skills
- Ability to:
- Collaboratively plan and manage engaging learning experiences
- Design and conduct instruction addressing a diversity of learner readiness
- Anticipate and adapt to opportunities which may arise as ‘teachable moments’
- Create innovative methods for embedding those connections in instruction
- Be adaptable: Boundless Life is growing quickly, so we’re looking for team members who can adapt to changing landscapes
