**Description**

***PENDING CONTRACT AWARD**

SUMMARY

Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems. Services and repairs aircraft avionics and electrical systems to ensure airworthiness.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipment
- Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation
- Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers
- Using hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents
- When required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications
- When required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems
- When required, assist in fabricating and testing wiring harnesses
- Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records
- Must effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives
- Perform other duties as assigned

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for the coordinating efforts to schedule, and plan for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events in order to minimize aircraft downtime and mitigate training time loss

**Qualifications**

Progressive and documented experience in the fighter aircraft maintenance environment.
Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills.
Must read, write and speak English fluently.
Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD Secret Clearance.

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE**

**Required**
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduate of Military electronics/avionics technical school or equivalent
- Leadership Experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
- At least four (4) years of working F-16 Avionics / Electrical experience with thorough understanding of Fighter Aircraft Systems and Flightline Operations.
- Experience with Aircraft scheduling / records management, maintenance control, configuration control, maintenance information systems, tool and FOD, training, safety, security, hazardous waste management and / or supply chain management.
- Must meet one of the following requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent F-16 avionics / electrical experience.
- Associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent F-16 avionics / electrical experience.
- Major certification plus 7 years of recent F-16 avionics / electrical experience.
- 11 years of recent F-16 avionics / electrical experience.
- F-16 Avionic and/or Electrical System USAF 7 - Level or equivalent
- Must have experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketch
