**About the role**

The Production Manager oversees the daily/shift operation within the Process Unit, in a way that is consistent with a culture of self-direction (empowerment and accountability), to produce and deliver high quality products to customer in a compliant, efficient, and cost effective manner. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), statutory, regulatory, and Novartis requirements.

**Your key responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with the relevant regulatory, legal and Novartis guidelines and procedures.
- Track and ensure shift/daily/monthly production targets are met.
- During designated shift, ensure that.
- Conduct initial investigation and secure area if there is any safety incident and escalate to HSE, Production Head as per Novartis HSE guidelines.
- Conduct preliminary investigation into any quality issue and escalate to QA and Production Head as per Novartis SOP’s.
- Manufacturing operations are on schedule and output is as per production plan. If required, escalate any deviation from the plan to Production Head.
- Maintain high visibility on the shop floor via walk troughs and support operations through (not limited to).
- Oversight of housekeeping including support of 6S program.
- Approvals of line clearance checks and release of equipment for production (including release in object log)
- Approval of AQL tests.
- Participation in Safety and Quality walk troughs.

**Role Requirements**

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Education: PhD or MSc in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or Chemistry
- 4 or more years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with direct experience with sterile manufacturing,
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
