We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive our growth in Italy. In this newly created position, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, clients, projects and the technical capabilities required to grow our business in Italy. The role will also work closely with the regional business line managers in France and the UK to establish ABL’s offering across the maritime and energy sectors.

**What you will be doing.**:
The role is responsible for spearheading the development and supporting the delivery of ABL’s growth initiatives in Italy. Your business case and strategy should look at short, medium, and long-term ABL growth opportunities, aligning ABL actions with market developments to support and grow existing ABL service lines and take advantage of growth areas within the marine and energy industries.

More specifically, you will:

- Establish and maintain close collaboration with ABL’s Europe management teams, providing frequent and transparent updates.
- Prepare tenders and proposals for Italy based work and / or clients.
- Support the U.K., France & Regional Management Team in growing the business.
- Establish a pool of freelancers in Italy to undertake work in Italy.
- Maintain and develop new and existing clients through appropriate proposition and relevant liaison to optimize quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on relevant and retain a good understanding of the market and the primary market drivers.
- Collect and analyse data related to ABL business lines, evaluate key opportunities and make strategic choices to develop the business while presenting findings to senior management.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and help define the direction of the services going forward by getting involved in the development of yearly budgets and growth strategies.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative tools to establish market size, competition and business development performance.

**What we are looking for.**:
You will possess a proven track record in business development and ideally business management as well. You will also be comfortable engaging with senior leaders to ensure that strategic goals are aligned and integrated with ABL’s local knowledge, capabilities and client base. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

- Fully conversant with Marine & Engineering consultancy in the offshore sectors including oil & gas, renewables or shipping / maritime.
- Experience in delivering Marine Warranty Surveying, Owner Engineering services in the offshore energy sector, and Maritime Casualty work.
- 10+ years commercial and / or project management experience.
- Experience working within an engineering consultancy in the energy and maritime sector
- Experienced in delivering both Energy and Maritime Services.
- Fluent in Italian. You should also have the right to live and work in the country.
