**CHEMIST - MATERIALS RESEARCHER**

**Job Purpose**

Joining a dynamic and motivated materials innovation development team, the R&D materials researcher will lead efforts to design, develop and validate innovative materials for the future Bridgestone products.

**Core Responsibility & Working relationship**
- Design, development and validation of new polymers/filler materials providing proposals, solutions and original ideas along with the Raw Material Development team and implementing new solutions in the daily activities.
- Chemical / Physical techniques trough new methodology development.
- Support and collaborate with the R&D laboratory for implementation of most advanced

- Promote Open Innovation projects with Bridgestone partners (suppliers, startups, research associates) & academia and launch new technologies.
- Work effectively with R&D researchers, staff, technicians, and management of Bridgestone EMIA Technical Center, actively taking part to R&D cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Bridgestone Corporate Functions, Bridgestone America and Bridgestone Japan and Bridgestone Europe manufacturing plants.
- To represent Bridgestone in conference, workshops with external partners.

**Job requirements**
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or any other related field of study.
- Goal-oriented, motivated, creative and collaborative. Able to work within teams with strong communications skills.
- Digital mindset: solid knowledge of digital software as Matlab, Python.

Skills in machine learning, big data analytics, computer vision and material simulation is preferable.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
