**Location**: The British School of Monaco

**Role Summary**:
The Early Years Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children. The teacher will create a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. This role requires a passionate educator who understands early childhood development and can inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Teaching and Learning**
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based, and structured learning activities that support early childhood development.
- Foster language, social, emotional, and cognitive development through storytelling, music, movement, and creative play.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
- Create a warm, stimulating, and well-organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Support children in developing early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences.

**Child Development and Well-being**
- Observe and assess children’s progress, using formative and summative assessments to guide learning.
- Provide individual support and guidance to children, fostering confidence and independence.
- Encourage positive social interactions, emotional resilience, and respectful communication among children.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to support each child’s development and well-being.

**Classroom and School Contributions**
- Prepare and organize learning materials, classroom displays, and educational resources.
- Supervise children during transitions, break times, and school events.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity in the Early Years curriculum.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
**Essential**:

- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, EYFS qualification, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching in an Early Years setting.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development.
- Ability to create an engaging and nurturing learning environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English.

**Desirable**:

- Experience teaching in an international or British school setting.
- Knowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework or similar curricula.
- Additional language skills, particularly in French or Italian.
- Creativity in developing interactive and exploratory learning activities.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Passionate about early childhood education and fostering a love for learning.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of young children.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach.

**Safeguarding Children**:
The job holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact, will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with The British School of Monaco’s **Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy** at all times.

If, in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the job holder identifies any instance in which a child is suffering or is likely to suffer significant harm, either at school or at home, they must report any concerns to the **Designated Safeguarding Lead** or their Deputy so that appropriate action can be taken.
