Role Summary:
As Electrotechnical Systems Senior Specialist, you will be part of the Technical Support Office.

You will work in a team of four Engineers, who provide technical support to both internal and external Clients in the Marine and Offshore Industry. You will have the opportunity to work in a great variety of sectors for example:
electrotechnical engineering, information technology, automation and control systems, cyber security and innovation technologies.

Having a passion for your discipline, you can become an expert in all of those sectors and share your expertise with our clients.

In this role you will need to have like working both independently and as part of a team, as well as represent Lloyd's Register (after attending relevant training) in meetings at a Site, onboard of ships or even Offshore.

Main Responsibilities:
The key element of the scope of this role is to use your expertise to perform assessments and provide solutions to problems that internal and external clients are facing.

Perform assessments and provide experienced advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.

Produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format.

Assess | recommend the time | value of the work to be undertaken for an internal | external client within an agreed fee | cost structure.

Discuss | present the deliverable with the internal | external client and suggest alternative solutions, where appropriate.

Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness of the latest updates in area of expertise.

Undertake project management, where applicable, monitor project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:
Assess the risks and ensure working in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises safety or health standards for yourself or others.

Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns to your line manager.

Required Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyds Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ships officer.

Three to Seven years of working experience in Electrotechnical field

Membershipof an appropriate professional institution.

Excellent command (written and oral) in English language using relevant professional terminology

Preferred but not required:
Previous experience within Marine & Offshore field is highly preferred

Responds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone. Has willingness to learn new programming languages and frameworks as needed (training and mentoring will be provided)
