**International Trainee Program: Trading & Origination**

Statkraft’s International Trainee Program is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16 months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates, and kick start your career in renewables. The program consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also become a part of our brand-new CEO-led Future Board - an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft who will advise and challenge our CEO on key issues and topics. For the first time ever, young professionals get a seat at the table, and will help shape our future here at Statkraft.
**Job Description**:
**Trainee in Origination, Southern Europe**
Location: Milan, Italy
In _Southern European Origination_, we are passionate about power markets and renewable energy, and our ambition is to be best-in-class in quantifying, managing, and trading associated risks. We are a leader in renewable power purchase agreements. Our geographical focus is Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy.
Southern European Origination consists of regional Origination teams located in Madrid, Milan and Paris and a central Portfolio Management team located at our Continental European hub in Düsseldorf. While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring and negotiating value enhancing new transactions, the Portfolio Management provides the analysis, structuring and pricing platform to all non-standard commodity contracts and manages the entire energy portfolio in the market across the forward curve until energy delivery.
Upon completion of the trainee program, your responsibilities could include the following:
- Contribute to the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of large wholesale electricity transactions such as Power Purchase Agreements for renewable energy projects or green structured products for corporate and industrial clients
- Closely cooperate with originators and business developers in designing new products for power producers, storage providers and large consumers
- Provide market analysis in terms of competition, industry trends, emerging customer challenges, regulatory changes and changes in the marketplace
- Support the origination process in terms of search and analysis of suitable counterparties for long-term power and environmental certificates transactions
**Qualifications**:
**About You**:
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Science, Engineering or similar
- A passion and interest in the renewable energy industry
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Curious and commercial mindset
- We appreciate a motivated and proactive attitude, combined with the ability to work independently and in teams
- Fluent in English, proficiency in French, Italian or Spanish would be an advantage.

**Practical information**
Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and work authorization.
