**Duties**:

- Analyzes the local community to establish and implement activities to identify children in the local Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) Area of Responsibility (AOR) who may require early intervention services (EIS).
- Utilizes professional diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to perform screening and evaluation of infant and toddler functional developmental abilities and child/student motor functioning.
- Discusses assessment results with parents and provides written and oral evaluation reports and provides evaluation feedback to referral sources.
- Develops and adapts intervention strategies to enhance functional development.
- Implements services into daily routines utilizing resources readily available within the family environment.
- Maintains appropriate ongoing contact with families to detect and respond to changes in family or child needs and adapts the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to meet changing child and family needs and priorities.
- Coordinates on specific program strategies and methodologies based on the decisions of the Case Study Committee (CSC) Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team to ensure services of the greatest benefit to the student.
- Monitors the progress, making appropriate recommendations for IEP modifications to the CSC team as indicated.

- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records.

- Basic Requirement for Occupational Therapist (EDIS):

- Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
- Certification: Applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0631 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
- In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating and delivering occupational therapy services for infants and toddlers with developmental, physical, and/or learning disabilities; evaluating and treating students with educational needs for occupational therapy based on school concerns and student assessments; collaborating as a member of an interdisciplinary team, including the parents, for the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP); and contributing to the development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) with parents and school personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
- Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
