FOOD TECHNOLOGYST

**Key objectives**:

- Risks mitigation due to public litigation or government fines
- Maintain the existing certifications:
ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and gluten free
- Ensure Company compliance with food safety law and public health requirements in board and shoreside
- Ensure occupational health &
safety and environmental law compliance
- Ensure respect of Privacy law compliance.

Specifically, the job holder will carry out the following activities:

- Elaborates appropriate materials for Food Safety training programs for onboard personnel (USPH, ANVISA, ISO 22000, AIC, EU Regulations, SHIPSAN)
- Supports the external Microbiological Analysis team to conduct analyses onboard on food, potable water and environmental samples
- Provides Food Safety assistance and Sanitation advice to onboard personnel, ensuring that stringent hygiene food safety standards are met
- Provides to the Quality and Compliance Manager all necessary reports on onboard audits and activities while notifying all relevant anomalies
Beverage products evaluation
- Undertakes research into aspects of food processing, food preservations, food quality, food deterioration, packaging, storage and delivery
- Continually conducts hazard analysis and identifies critical control points, pre - requisite and operational programs, ensuring they are current and appropriate
- Evaluates compliance of Food &
Beverage products ensuring respect of ASL, SHIPSAN, USPH, ANVISA and AIC/other requirements
- Participates to suppliers’ audits and their qualification
- Monitors Standard Procedures adequacy related to food safety and sanitation
- Provides Food Safety assistance and Sanitation advice to the departments involved in Food &
Beverage processes
- Ensures compliance of specific gluten free processes and products to maintain the AIC Certification.

**The ideal applicant meets these requirements**:

- Master’s degree in food science and Technology
- Food related postgraduate qualification could be beneficial
- Experience in Food &
Beverage Industry
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to write and explain scientific information to technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Good organizations, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Availability to travel
- Fluent English and Italian.
