Material Expert

We are looking for **Material Expert **to join our R&D Labs, in our HQ in Piombino Dese (PD)

Main activities:

- Plan, design, and conduct research projects according to the established scientific methods, principles, and theories to resolve the existing problems.
- Understanding how new polymer/rubber compounds and/or existing materials could be changed/developed to improve product functionality and to solve potential issues.
- Activities may include devising research methods; calculating and analysing test results and preparing detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.
- Implementation of experimental data into the numerical models via close cooperation with the modelling/simulation department.
- Collaboration with external parties and joint laboratories for investigation in materials properties through costume designed test environments for unconventional geometries.
- Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to conduct a research project and monitor performance to ensure these targets are met.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations in research and science.

**Qualifications**
- Scientific Master’s degree
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (is a plus)
- Good English language proficiency
- Solid knowledge in physical, chemical and mechanical properties of different classes of materials (e.g. glass, polymers/rubbers and metals).
- Sound knowledge on the interactional phenomena in interfaces between two identical or different materials.
- Knowledge of data analysis and statistic for this purpose.
- Basic knowledge of numerical simulation is a plus (Ansys, LS-Dyna, matlab, phaython).
- Well-established experience in functional/mechanical test methods and related equipment customization
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment:

- Tensile machines (dynamometer and tribometer),
- Microscopic/optical-based instruments
- Customized equipment (load cell, sensors, etc) is a plus.
- Knowledge instrument calibration (and preferred metrology) is a plus
