Medical Exercise Planner

**Responsibilities**:
Peraton is currently seeking a talented
**Medical Exercise Planner** to become part of Peratons' US Army Africa Mission Support program, which works to serve and protect US Army forces operating and training in Africa.

**Location**: This position will be located in Vicenza, Italy.

The Medical Exercise Planner provides medical planning support to the SETAF-AF Surgeon’s Office for a variety of supported exercises, including Medical Readiness Exercises (MEDREX) and other Health Service Support (HSS) exercise planning requirements. In this role, you will support the exercise planning process for a Department of Defense agency serving and protecting U.S. Army personnel operating in austere and challenging locations.

**What you’ll do**:
The Medical Exercise Planner will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

- Provide expertise and advice on medical impacts (threat / risk assessments) for exercises and / or deployed forces.
- Provide support and counsel in the review, analysis and planning process within the Surgeon’s office.
- Coordinate with SETAF-AF and MEDCOM components to identify emerging training requirements for medical exercises.
- Coordinate with Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) Working Groups with planning and execution of Health and Human Services (HHS), Tactical Combat Care Course (TC3) certifications, and other programs and exercises.
- Provide expertise, advice, and support in achieving the objective of building host nation Combat Medicine Programs in the SETAF-AF AOR.
- Participate in exercise planning events, assist with coordination with U.S. embassies in regard to medical requirements and coordination with deploying units comprised of Active, Reserve, and National Guard units to ensure completion of medical clearance screening requirements for theater entry and pre-exercise training.
- Assist with building sustainable African institutions to train military point of injury care, provide HHS input to assist with mission assurance assessments and United States Military Observer Group (USMOG) threat vulnerability assessments.
- Prepare presentations, reports and briefings for leadership on the progress and status of the medical exercise programs.

Qualifications:
**Basic Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of U.S. Army experience, or High School diploma and 12 years of U.S. Army experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- One year of recent experience with U.S. Army health services planning.
- Experience establishing protocols and instituting standard medical operating procedures.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 16 years of U.S. Army operations and planning experience.
- Top Secret security clearance
- Former U.S. Army Senior NCO (SFC - SGM), Senior Warrant Officer (CW3-CW5), or U.S. Army Officer (CPT-LTC)
- Bilingual / Italian Language Proficiency
