Role TEST TECHNICIAN

This position is located at BorgWarner’s Italy Plant in Lugo (RA).

As a test technician your challenge is to support testing of prototypes or mass-produced power products, battery chargers and inverters, and all internal hardware and software components and modules. You build test stands, evaluate and validate test results according to test plans and schedules. You work in tight connection with test and product engineers.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform assigned laboratory tests under direction of engineers, ranging from moderate to high degrees of complexity on electrical/mechanical components and assemblies
- Assemble hardware samples and assist in hardware checkout and verification testing
- Build and/or modify product and equipment harnesses and cabling
- Support or lead procurement of necessary equipment to complete engineering-defined test setups
- Support or lead assembly of bench setups to complete engineering-defined test plans
- Support or lead troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment
- Move progress forward on multiple projects simultaneously without direct supervisor involvement
- Work cross functionally with other groups to overcome issues/constraints and complete difficult tasks
- Conduct experiments, record data, and formally report the results to internal customers and engineers, with a high degree of quality and professionalism
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and orderly lab environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required, Associate or Bachelors degree in electrical engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology preferred
- 3 years of experience is preferred
- Practical, hands on laboratory experience required
- Direct experience building and debugging laboratory fixtures
- Demonstrated problem solving and technical debug skills
