Tactical Buyer

What we offer:
Dematic is looking for a talented Tactical Buyer - Direct Materials to be hired with a temporary contract of 1 year, for its premises in Cernusco Sul Naviglio. He/She will report to the Procurement Manager Italy and will be responsible for supporting procurement activities and objectives within a factory environment. He/she should be methodical in developing action plans, managing on-site deliveries to our various projects, and interacting with our suppliers and internal customers. We are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and strives for continuous improvement.

What You Will do in This Role:

- Arranges timely delivery of supplies and materials and expedites as necessary. Effectively manage supply programs to meet lead times, as well as delivery dates for projects.
- Procure and manage material to meet quality, delivery, inventory and price targets (use SAP).
- Own daily working relationships with suppliers, category leaders and project leaders within the Project Procurement Team.
- Effectively communicate with and engage all levels of the organization as well as key suppliers and customers.
- Assess demand and place purchase orders for Project purchases, which are third party supplier material that is not part of a Bill of Material. Review incoming orders, verify ship dates, and communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates.
- Maintain material master data on assigned part numbers in SAP.
- Act as the point of contact with suppliers.
- Support supplier quality and supplier development activities, including monitoring and improving delivery reliability and lead time reduction.
- Support escalation process with suppliers based on scorecards, etc.
- Resolve semi-complex delivery, quality or other related problems with invoices or purchases.

Tasks and Qualifications:
What We are Looking For:

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business or Diploma
- Demonstrates good grasp of knowledge of the field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in similar role
- Purchasing experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Ability to communicate and build relationships both internally, across all functional organization and externally with supplies and customers.
- Good knowledge of Italian and English languages
