**Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026** is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.
**Position**:
We are looking for **Communication & Promotion Manager Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relay.**
Olympic Torch Relay & Paralympic Torch Relay Events are the main communication and promotion tool of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Roadshow events involving public stakeholders, sponsors and partners to promote and spread the Games through the population of the Host Country.
The OTR is an itinerary event, conducted mainly outdoors, it will travel for over 11 thousand km across Italy in about 60 days. Carried by a road convoy and a relay involving approximately 10 thousand torchbearers across the most important towns and cities, the Olympic Torch Relay will touch all the Italian regions and provinces before reaching Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo and lighting the Olympic Cauldrons during the Games Opening Ceremony on 6 February 2026.
The Communication & Promotion Manager of the Olympic & Paralympic Torch Relay:
- Manages communication and promotion activities on OTR& PTR with Milano Cortina internal functions (Communication and Media Relation, Digital, Image & Look, Education, Events, Olympic Legacy, Marketing and Sponsorship ) and their external suppliers.
- Manages activities with the OTR and PTR Production Companies on communication and promotional aspects (city celebrations, alternative mode of relay, group torchbearers, ceremonies and communication moments, special events, production of media contents).
- He/She is the main account for OTR & PTR presenting partners and other sponsors in all promotional and operational activities they put in place related to OTR & PTR, integrates communications and promotions needs with OTR operations plan and TB operations, coordinating with communication and marketing and sponsorship departments within Milano Cortina.
- Help and support to build and define the communication and promotion strategy for OTR & PTR including TB selection criteria.
- Coordinates relationship with Local Authorities (people involvement, communication and promotion aspects, digital and media relations on OTR &PTR).
- During the event, while the operations are running the relay, the communication mgr will have the responsibility of torchbearers mgmt., will coordinate and help Milano Cortina communications teams (media relation, digital, social) in their tasks and will coordinate with sponsors and partners helping them to solve any issue related to OTR and PTR.
- He/She will also have the most important task of coordinate the activities of the city celebrations with local municipalities and stakeholders involved and the control of ambush marketing.
**Requirements**:
Work experience in:
- Event management.
- Communication and marketing skills.
- Media relation.
- Work experience in an International Company (media and communication department, events mgmt).
- Social and digital media management experience.
Personal skills and requirements:
- Fluent in communicating and writing both in Italian and English.
- Good knowledge of the Italian territory and its different realities.
- University degree and highest level of education: able to speak and interact with International and National Public Authorities, International Partners, General Public.
- Previous experience in Olympic Games organisation or senior role in communication and promotion departments within big events mgmt.
- Team work and positive attitude.
- Flexible, well organised; customer service oriented.
- Able to withstand stress during peak periods.
- Attention to details.
- Polite and friendly.
- Available to travel daily for long period and during the event
