**About APB Europe**

APB (Affinity & Program Business) is a new team established in 2021 in the LSM Europe region, to build up and develop profitable growth working with an increased number of high quality business partners. These business partners have proven capabilities we can delegate too in confidence.

Business Partners we target are smaller, privately owned and usually mature coverholders, brokers and MGA companies who want to work with us in a long term sustainable model. We can delegate a range of functions, from quote to bind, to distribution management, administration, claims management and underwriting (always within specific LSM guidelines and controls). We have a highly relevant strategic growth plan to 2026+ and we are looking at widening our investments to enable broader distribution channels including non-intermediated and digital in future years.

**About the Team**
- You will be a key and valued member of two teams - APB Europe and Liberty Specialty Markets Europe Claims department - you will be responsible for full oversight and performance management of the claims process either with our outsourced Business Partners or local LSM claims teams, who will handle claims through all stages from initial notification to conclusion including; analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriate reserves and where necessary, approving claims payments as required.

**Purpose of the Role**
- Full and complete oversight of the claims service provided by a combination of LSM Claims Teams, TPA or Delegated Business Partners who manage claims to specific pre-determined claims authorities set.
- Develop a robust process for evaluation, monitoring and continuous improvement of all aspects of the claims value to deliver a consistent high standard of claims management across the board
- Prepare/producing periodic MI reports by country and across Europe for all APB business, to support APB underwriting decision making and profitability metrics.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Overseeing, managing and where claims exceed authorities, handling all aspects of claims emanating from delegated Binders Agreements across Europe, from initial notification through to settlement, ensuring that these are operating effectively and that Coverholders are providing the exceptional performance standards and service that accord with LSM Claims Philosophy.
- Full and complete monitoring of claims across local teams in Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and Spain covering claims under Professional Indemnity, D&O, Casualty, Marine Cargo and Fine Art and Specie.
- Responsibility for managing all delegated claims relationships ensuring compliance with SLAs and standard of claims handling required.
- Reporting in a dual reporting matrix to the Underwriting Manager APB Europe and Head of European Claims, working collaboratively within our teams of teams organisational structure (APB Europe and LSM Europe Claims).
- As required, collaborating closely with and assisting Country Claims Manager (and teams) in the preparation of claims review reports, attending underwriting, actuarial and claims review meetings as requested as well as providing appropriate input regarding the claims outcome.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets from different stakeholders
- Monitor the LSM teams responsible for processing claims bordereaux in various formats and degrees of data quality, and maintain central oversight of claims data processing and data quality across all delegated business partners.
- Ensure timely provision of claims reports to APB Performance & Governance Manager to support the existing quarterly governance processes to LSM CUO, Underwriting Risk Management Committee and occasionally Management Committee in Luxembourg.
- Lead/manage new projects and initiatives using existing claims tools and capabilities to drill into the claims data including loss causation, reserving practices and reserve level inadequacies, and recommend improvement areas.
- Establish a feedback process with the APB Underwriting Manager and APB Performance and Governance Manager on claims performance and claims insight reports, together with recommended actions and improvement areas. Agree a collective plan to feedback claims insights to APB Business Partners to improve the quality of their claims processes.
- Assessing the status of claims with stakeholders including updating a single large loss claims report across APB Business Partners.
