**Job Description**:

Our 18 month rotational program is designed as a deep dive into the glass industry and our batch and furnace operations. The program will prepare you for a successful and long-lasting career within our manufacturing areas. During our Development Program you will learn everything about our processes, technologies and roles. The program provides practical experience: you will work and study in our plants, shoulder to shoulder with our best managers and glassmakers, experiencing first-hand the glass manufacturing process. You will be offered challenging and diverse opportunities while being supported through a structured learning and development program, with access to a variety of on the job activities, networking and social activities.

This position is developmental in nature while supporting all aspects throughout the plant during the rotational program. Following this program, the individual will be on the path to a **batch and furnace manager** in one of our plants.

**During the development program, you’ll learn the ins and outs of how we make glass through three tracks (Operations, Glass Science, and Engineering). This includes**:

- Raw materials and cullet management: the characteristics, properties, collection and treatment, testing and control
- Melting technology: melting phenomena, glass conditioning, parameters, how to measure and control
- End to end process of our furnace operations and engineering including furnace management, heating process, furnace utilities and construction, energy management, and furnace maintenance.
- Glass quality controls and color changes
- Troubleshooting glass defects and furnace issues
- Data analysis and cause-effect link in glass production

**The Glass & Furnace Development Program participants should have**:

- Natural curiosity and willingness to learn
- Desire to ultimately lead and develop a team of people; confident under pressure and respectful of different ideas
- High level of motivation and ability to deliver results
- Excellent communication skills; able to interact with all levels of the organization
- Capable to prioritize and follow-up on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to adapt in fast-changing environment

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical or industrial)
- Graduation completed between **December 2021** and **May 2023**:

- Ability to travel throughout Europe during the program (financial assistance provided by O-I)
- ** Professional working proficiency in Italian and English (both written and spoken)**:

- Must be authorized to work in Italy on a full-time basis
- Willingness to relocate
